Occupational Therapist
An amazing new job opportunity has arisen for a motivated Occupational Therapist to work in an exceptional mental health service based in the Reading, Berkshire area.

This mental health service is a 24 hour specialist care and support service for people with severe and enduring mental health needs

*To be considered for this position you must be a registered Occupational Therapist with a HCPC Registration

As the Occupational Therapist your key responsibilities include:
- Plan and implement individual and group interventions collaboratively with patients
- Actively implement evidence-based practice
- Maintain accurate patient records, including care notes, written reports and discharge summaries in accordance with hospital and professional standard
- Establish effective communication with patients and their cares, all staff and other agencies
- Implement and develop evidence-based therapeutic activities to aid mental health recovery
- To fulfil a variety of duties and responsibilities associated with maintaining a caseload, meeting the standards set in the Occupational Therapy department care-pathway while adhering to HPC regulations
- Complete full assessments, plan, implement intervention and evaluate outcomes as per department care-pathway, enabling the patient in areas of self-maintenance, productivity, and leisure
The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
- Experience working with people with neurological needs
- Evidence of fieldwork and or employment within the Rehabilitation field of Psychiatry
- Experience in working with Forensic patients
- Strong knowledge of best practices within a similar setting
- Knowledge and practical experience of the Occupational Therapy process in mental health or neurological settings
- Experience, knowledge and skill in supervising OT staff and students
The successful Occupational Therapist will receive an excellent salary up to £30,000 per annum DOE.
This exciting position is a Full Time role working 37.5 hours a week.
