Service Care Legal are currently recruiting on behalf of a Local Authority, based in the Greater Manchester, which is in need of a Paralegal to join their Childcare Legal team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Paralegal/Legal Assistant or Legal Officer interested in public sector work.

ROLE: Childcare Paralegal

LOCATION: Greater Manchester, hybrid

CONTRACT: 3 month rolling contract

RATE: £20ph - £25ph umbrella

The Role:

• To provide administrative and clerical support to the Childcare Legal team.
  
  This includes drafting all applications, threshold docs, arranging counsel, obtaining agency and other relevant evidence


• Handle a caseload of pre-proceedings cases, discharge of care orders, adoption and s.37/s.7 matters


• To maintain and update case management system and update department case lists

The Person:

• Someone who has worked as a Childcare Paralegal for a minimum of 2 years


• Someone who has previously worked for a Local Authority in a Childcare Legal team and, ideally, has used the Iken system


• Someone who is comfortable working independently in a remote setting
