Deputy Children's Home Manager

I am currently working with a residential care company, who are looking for a Deputy Manager of their Children's Home.

The home cares for up to 4 children aged 7-18 years old, with a diagnoses of Learning Disability that have mild to moderate needs.

They provide quality care for their children and want to achieve the best possible outcomes for them.

In order to do so, they need to ensure that they bring a strong and experienced candidate into their organisation that shares their passion for making a difference.

Main Duties

  • Work with the Registered Manager to develop the optimum staff structure / rota and ensure that staff are available to fill the rota.

  • Work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure that the home is compliant with Children's Homes Regulations 2015, and OFSTED inspection framework.

  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of staff, Plus enhance the professional development of other members of staff.

  • Ensure that the team work effectively together and that all members of staff working consistently in the same way, ensuring standard are maintained and improved.

  • Under the guidance from the Registered Manager complete and record regular checks/risk assessments to ensure that the home is compliant.

  • Working alongside the Registered Manager effectively manage staff holidays and sickness absence, ensuring that all sickness absences are followed by a return to work interview and ensuring that HR systems are kept up to date.

  • As required, arrange and lead meetings, take minutes and prepare agendas.

  • Support the smooth and efficient running of the home.

Person Specification

  • A minimum of 2 years management experience in a Learning Disabilities / EBD Childrens residential home setting.

  • Level 3 CYP Qualification (Required)

  • Significant experience of managing teams and line management.
