Service Care Legal are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in South East London who are seeking a Corporate Lawyer to join their team on a contract basis.

ROLE: Senior Corporate Lawyer
LOCATION: South East London / hybrid
RATE: £50.00 to £60.00 per hour
CONTRACT: Initial 3 months, potential to be extended

The Role

• To manage a caseload of work relating to corporate work and assisting the Monitoring Officer when necessary


• Reviewing Member complaints under the relevant Code of Conduct complaints procedure


• Preparing guidance notes and updates on legislation including FOI, data protection matters and regulatory matters


• Reviewing strategic policies and related guidance

The Person

• To be a qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister with a minimum of 5 years' PQE


• Previous experience of working within a local authority or public sector body would be highly advantageous


• Experience of dealing with complex caseloads of Corporate Law matters would be essential for this role
