Little Dragons opened in 2003 in a purpose built single story building to accommodate 64 children across 3 nursery rooms.

The nursery is conveniently located on the Bath Road in Reading with the town centre only 1.8 miles away.

They accept children aged from 10 months up until 31st August after their 4th birthday.

Children are eligible for a school place in a reception class with effect from the September following their 4th birthday.

Main duties of the job

Encouraging all areas of the children's development within Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) with the appropriate activities, play opportunities and actions through imaginative play and innovative programming.

Compiling and maintaining development records on children and report to the Team Leader at agreed intervals.

Providing a stimulating, friendly and caring environment at all times.

Completing, after consultation with the team, monthly and weekly plans and displays.

Demonstrating good practice with regards to special needs and inclusion, working with the nursery and area SENCO as appropriate.

Developing good relationships with parents and encourage parental interest and participation in the life of the nursery.

Being a key carer carrying out all related responsibilities in building relationships with a small group of children and their families.

Maintaining and contributing to effective and positive communication between all members of staff and parents.

Working with Early Years and other professional teams to continuously improve the quality of childcare and education and to learn about current developments in childcare practice and policy.

Requirement for the role

NVQ 3 in childcare or equivalent qualification
An understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage

Experience of any work which demonstrates the skills required for the post
Experience of team work
Previous relevant work in childcare

We also offer a £150 bonus for starting a contract with Service Care Solutions, this will be paid to you after your 4th week of work.
