Oxfordshire Safeguarding Children Board Business Manager
Safeguarding Children Board Business Manager needed with Oxfordshire County Council
Start Date- April
Location - Oxford
Duration - Initially 4 months
Hours per week - 37 hours per week
Salary - £33 ltd an hour
Description:
- To lead on the development and delivery of the strategic work of the Oxfordshire Children's Safeguarding Board (OSCB) in accordance with Working Together 2018 and the Oxfordshire MASA ensuring it fulfils statutory duties by leading on the multi-agency planning process, generating effective collaboration between Board members and driving the work of sub-groups and local panels.
- To be accountable to and report to the OSCB Independent Chair and the MASA executive group, at Chief Executive level across the County Council, Health partners and Thames Valley Police
- To ensure the reputation of the partnership and the integrity of its operations are upheld to the highest level and to identify and escalate both strategic and operational risks at the earliest possible opportunity
- To take the lead responsibility for communications to raise the profile of the OSCB and awareness of safeguarding issues throughout Oxfordshire with a specific role to analyse and provide annual reports for the partnership so that key messages and emerging trends are disseminated, accessible and known across the county by all partners and political groups
- To lead and act as the first point of contact in negotiating high profile and challenging decisions with the National Panel and the Department of Education on behalf of the partnership's senior executives, particularly in relation to Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews and Rapid Reviews
- To take the lead responsibility for partnership quality assurance activities, from audit work to case reviews including responsibility for Rapid Reviews and Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews
What is required?
- Educated to degree level and/or a professional qualification in an area related to adults, children and young people
- Knowledge of safeguarding arrangements, procedures and the functions of local safeguarding children boards
- 2 years experience of working in a service related to adults, children and young people
- Experience of leading and managing a team and budget
- Substantial experience of direct involvement in child protection and safeguarding casework and processes
- Experience of developing and writing annual reports, service plans, specifications and/or policies and procedures to a high standard
