JOB TITLE: Team Manager
LOCATION: Areas of Kent
WORK PATTERN: Mon-Fri (8.45am-5.15pm) (Hybrid)

An exciting opportunity for an experienced housing manager with a passion for service development to manage and develop our older people's schemes across the county - Swanley, Edenbridge, Tunbridge Wells, Ashford, Dartford, and Sevenoaks, and help to develop and deliver our older person's work throughout Kent.

You will be responsible for ensuring that we deliver an excellent housing related management service and ensuring that residents receive a positive customer experience.

You will have a passion to improve lives for older people, shaping services that help maintain their independence and keep them connected to the community.

You will possess excellent management, communication, and networking skills.


  • Leading your scheme staff to deliver on the contractual requirements of the support and management contracts across Emerald Homes.

    Collaborate with colleagues to promote West Kent's culture of promoting tenant ownership and responsibility to create sustainable tenancies and places where people want to live.

  • Help customers to understand their responsibilities as tenants and how to sustain their tenancy.

    Effectively manage all aspects of housing related services to provide a high-quality housing management service to residents.

  • Ensure all schemes are compliant.

    Manage, motivate and develop your team to deliver consistently outstanding performance where customers receive a genuine and positive experience.

    Continuously improve the service and financial performance of older people's Homes through monitoring and reporting against performance measures.

  • Contribute to and deliver West Kent's strategies, for housing and older person's services including Age A Positive Experience and Emerald Accommodation Strategy.

    Develop our reputation of being a leading provider of older person's accommodation and services through collaborative working with partners, stakeholders and commissioners.


  • Good understanding of issues, and best practice in relation to managing older people's services.

    Good understanding of housing management.

    Experience of operating within a contracting environment.

  • Proven communication, interpersonal and written skills adaptable to all audiences including the ability to write reports for senior managers.

    Proficiency in Microsoft packages including Excel.

    Confident in learning and maximising the use of in-house bespoke systems

  • Proven ability to manage a staff team in accordance with organisations policies and procedures, particularly through times of change.

    Experience of setting up new services.

    Ability to analyse and report on data to support performance management and policy making across older people's services.

  • Experience of working towards team goals and key performance indicators.

    Sound negotiating skills to support effective contract management and dispute resolution.

    Experience in establishing effective relationships with stakeholders.

Also, will be required to go through an enhanced DBS check.
