Service Care Legal are currently recruiting on behalf of a local authority based in the Essex area who are seeking a Housing Litigation Lawyer to join their team on a contract basis.

ROLE: Housing Litigation Lawyer
LOCATION: Essex
CONTRACT: Maternity cover - initial 6 months, potential to be ongoing
RATE: £40.00 to £45.00 per hour

Please note that this role would be hybrid working with occasional attendance at local courts.

The Role

• To manage a full caseload of housing law matters through to completion


• Matters are predominantly related to disrepair, anti-social behaviour and homelessness


• To assist more junior members of staff with technical matters when required

The Person

• A qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister with a minimum of 12 months PQE


• Experienced in progressing full caseloads of Housing Law matters through to completion


• Previous local authority or housing association experience would be highly beneficial for this position
