A client within the Public Sector based in West Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Highways Supervisor / Clerk of Works to join their Highways works team as soon as possible.

This is a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a Highways Maintenance team.

The purpose of the role is to ensure that departmental services are provided to the highest quality/standard with specific focus on Planing and surfacing, Surface dressing and specialist surfacing.

The main responsibilities of the role:

• To establish and develop positive relationships with external organisations, customers and stakeholders to ensure effective and efficient delivery of highway engineering schemes.


• To inspect and supervise highways engineering work undertaken by external contractors ensuring compliance with Contract Procedures and Construction Standards and Specifications.


• To advise contractors on construction methods, material specifications, design options, use of plant and adequacy of temporary works ensuring working practices comply with safety requirements.

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience of civil engineering contract works including highway construction


• Full Car Driving Licence

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £25 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
