Service Care Legal are currently recruiting on behalf of a local authority in the Dorset areas who are seeking a Court Usher to join them on a contract basis.

ROLE: Court Usher
LOCATION: Dorset
RATE: £12.00 to £14.00 per hour
CONTRACT: 37 hours per week, initial 6 months

The Role

• To be the first point of contact for all the court users involved in hearings


• To be in regular contact with the judiciary, assisting the administrative staff with the smooth flow of court work


• Preparing court /hearing rooms, and complete documentation, as well as ensuring the court runs smoothly and efficiently


• Carrying out some general clerical work as required to support the work of court

The Person

• 2 GCSE's at Grade C or above, or equivalent qualifications would be required


• To have experience of working with the public in a busy public service environment would also be desirable


• To have strong communication skills and personable skills would be essential for this role


• Ability to use computers and systems proficiently will be essential for this position
