Service Charge Project Manager
Based in Merseyside
2 Year Fixed Term Contract

£43,035 Per Annum


The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the implementation of the Service Charge action plan responding to key tasks outlined through an external review.

The Service Charge Project Manager will be knowledgeable in all aspects of service charge administration and be responsible for implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

The Project Manager will work closely with Income, Finance and other areas of the business.



  • To ensure the integrity of service charges to all current and new magenta living stock.

  • Responsible for ensuring the service charge estimates and expenditures are accurate, understandable and kept up to date on a yearly basis.

  • Provide guidance and advice to other members of staff on the general management of rent and service charge setting.

  • Prepare service charge accounts in accordance with and to comply with Statue and leases



  • To implement the service charge action plan as a result of an external review

  • To respond to audit recommendations and ensure effective service charge administration

  • To identify and map all costs associated with service charges to make recommendations for the future of service charge collection

  • To develop and implement effective policies and processes for service charge management

  • To set, prepare and manage estimated service charge budgets across all tenures

  • Maintain and update service charge information for all tenures

  • Accurate record keeping of all service charge accounts (charges and collection)

  • Act as a first point of contact for both staff and customers.

  • Provide excellent customer service by ensuring service charges are budgeted and charged fairly in accordance with legislation

  • Understand new schemes and assist with the preparation of new scheme estimates, review of new schemes and provide annual estimates.

  • Ensure all service charge schedules are issued in a timely manner and that the financial information requires to produce the schedules is accurately and systematically recorded

  • Communicate with internal and external customers effectively whether written, telephone calls and use of any digital platforms

  • Ability to carry out consultation with customers in varying or implementing service charges
