Job Title: Senior Accountancy Technician
Location: Cheshire, CW11
Rate: : £17 - £20 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Type: Temporary
Weekly Hours: 37 Hours
Work Pattern: Monday - Friday (Hybrid working)

We are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in Cheshire for a Senior Accountancy Technician.

The role will be to provide, manage and develop service and corporate financial support to a designated service to facilitate the effective management of resources with a key focus on budgetary control.

Purpose

• Advise and liaise within the finance service to ensure detailed capital and revenue budgets are prepared and maintained to meet the Councils financial standing orders and current policies and guidelines


• Collate and analyse financial information and provide advisory service to individual operational managers


• Preparing final accounts and related returns to meet the Councils procedures and statutory obligations and timetables


• Ensure effective day to day operation of the team with high levels of customer satisfaction by leading, initiating and maintaining relationships


• Supervise a team of Accounting Technicians and finance trainees in the delivery of financial services to internal and external clients

Ideal Candidate

• Will be a member of AAT, or have an equivalent professional qualification or degree level qualification in a relevant field with a commitment to continuing academic, personal and professional development


• Can demonstrate detailed understanding of accounting standards and all relevant legislation encompassed in statutory regulations


• Possesses sustained experience of budgetary control having at least 2 years recent experience


• Has extensive post qualification experience with extensive working knowledge and detailed understanding of Council financial practices and procedures, or equivalent


• Shows good communication skills, both oral and written and is able to convey complicated financial information to a range of audiences in a clear and concise manner
