Housing Options Team Leader

We are working with a local authority based in Kent on a contract for a Housing Option Team Leader.

Hybrid role wit working from home is an option after an initial induction period is undertaken.

This is also a Temp 2 Perm Vacancy.



  • To manage and lead your team on the day-to-day operational functions of the service to ensure the discharge of the Council's statutory housing functions in the areas of Homelessness Prevention, Relief, s184 Homeless Decisions and s202 Reviews.

  • Ensure that all duties are carried out in compliance with current legal and corporate requirements.

  • Develop and review appropriate local procedures and provide comprehensive advice and guidance to your team on difficult and complex cases.

  • In accordance with associated legal requirements carry out s202 reviews in relation to s184 Homeless decisions issued, suitability of temporary accommodation placements and final offer discharges within statutory deadlines.

  • Ensure that your team provide temporary accommodation to applicants where the Council has a duty to do so.

  • Actively seek out and maximise prevention and relief opportunities and maintain good working partnerships and relationships with internal departments and external organisations and stakeholders.
