Assistant Broker

Assistant Broker needed with Isle of Wight Council



Start Date- ASAP


Location - Newport


Duration - initially 3 months


Hours per week - 37 hours per week


Salary - £14 ltd an hour



Description:



  • To assist and support the department's Team Manager - Single Point of Commissioning Team, in the delivery of a proactive, efficient and effective, high quality adult social care brokerage service for the council

  • To identify and source appropriate social care services for people

  • Provide assistant to the Line Manager in applying the service's brokerage procedures and standards, including the use of corporate systems and applications

  • Provide advice to Social Work Teams to enable them to apply good practice in all brokerage matters, and to forward more complex issues to the Line Manager

  • Liaise with social care providers daily ensuring suitable care packages are put in place in line with the support plans provided by social workers and update appropriate internal systems



What is required?



  • Relevant experience of working with financial systems and process

  • Experience of working in the social care field or a business background within a health or local authority setting

  • Previous experience of meeting with and/or interviewing and advising the public and building effective relationships

  • Four GCSE Grades A-C including Maths & English
