Receptionist

Service Care Solutions are looking for a receptionist to work within the West Yorkshire Police on a 3-Month contract.


Location: Wakefield


Job Role/Purpose:


To provide an efficient and effective reception service for visitors to Force premises to ensure that they are dealt with promptly, efficiently, and courteously and to provide a typing service where requested.



  • Lead by example and behave in line with the Police Code of Ethics and Force Purpose and Values, taking appropriate action to ensure that all your team members do likewise.

  • Ensure that all visitors are dealt with in a helpful, courteous, and efficient manner and are issued with their visitor's passes as required.

  • To be responsible for the issue of ID Cards to visitors in line with Force/local Policies and administer relevant processes to maintain security.

  • Manage and maintain keys and access cards to ensure access is available to authorised personnel and maintain security.

  • Provide typing support as and when required to assist the department.

  • Provide clerical support as directed by Line Management to assist Administration Staff.

  • Monitor and control access to premises to cover for absence by the Security Attendant and maintain liaison with site security (where applicable) to maintain continuity.


Work Experience:



  • Basic Typing and administrative skills Essential.

  • Previous reception experience.

  • Ability to adhere to security procedures.

  • Ability to deal with a large volume of visitors at once, whilst adhering to security procedures and differing requirements.

  • Is prepared to work flexible hours.

  • Willing and able to undergo personal and financial vetting checks.


Desirable Skills:



  • Basic knowledge of relevant departments.

  • Basic knowledge of relevant IT systems.

  • Basic knowledge of local parking arrangements.

  • Successfully completed Customer Care Training Course.

  • Detailed knowledge of alert status & relevant security, parking, and access policies.

  • Has successfully undertaken minute taking if required by the Department.
