Role: Data Solutions Architect

Location: London

Contract: 6 months+

Wage: Up to £625 inside ir35

Purpose of the Post
BTP is transforming its IT to meet the demands of the 21st Century by utilising disparate, unconnected datasets into our cloud infrastructure to enable an evidence base for strategic decision making and provide a single situational awareness across UK Railway Policing.



To meet these demands we require a Solution Architect to identify solutions leveraging the M365 platform and create high level and low level designs that enable the development of integrated data platform that meet our current and future business needs.



Changes to service, process, organisation, operating model and other aspects may be required in addition to technology components.

The solutions architect will assist with the completion of business cases, detailing how solutions meet business benefits and outcomes (such as automation of business processes) are met.

Any requirements which are not fully met and alternative options or considerations which require a business decision.

The provision of comprehensive guidance on the development of, and modifications to, solution components to ensure that they take account of relevant architectures, strategies, policies, standards and practices and that existing and planned solution components remain compatible.

Qualifications and Training:
Educated to degree level in a specific IT or engineering discipline or equivalent:
Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) Productivity or equivalent

Experience:
Significant experiences as an Office 365 Front end developer or architect with demonstrable experience of SharePoint, MS Compliance Centre, MS Project Online, MS Teams and Power Platform
Experience of Systems Analysis and Traceability Mapping to be able to translate technical requirements into business language
Extensive experience of Solution and Technical design and implementing business solutions in the cloud.


Experience of designing and implementing Azure SQL Data Warehouse/ Azure Data Factory
Experience of implementing a process /pipeline to ingest external datasets
Experience of creating integrated data solutions
Able to translate data into valuable insights that inform decisions.


Up to date with advances in digital analytics tools and data manipulation products.


Understand a variety of metadata management tools to design and maintain the appropriate metadata repositories to enable the organisation to understand their data assets.

Knowledge:

Good knowledge of the M365 Platform including SharePoint, Teams and Compliance Centre.

Some knowledge of information security practice and procedure, government knowledge is an advantage.
