An exciting full time opportunity has become available as a Group Mental Health Worker within a dynamic and local mental health charity based in Guilford.

You will be working for a specialist non-profitable organisation running 16 different types of mental health support teams across Surrey.

This role is within their community support project running various physical, social and wellbeing group activities either online or within community centers.

Hours: Full time, 5 days per week, Monday - Friday.

Contract: 3 - 6 months with option to extend.

Potential opportunity to join the client on a permanent basis.

Shifts: 9am - 5pm - Monday to Friday some evening works may be required

Salary: £24,000 per annum

You will be providing first hand mental health support and intervention to people in the community who have either been signposted to the service by primary care agencies such as GP's or other partnered agencies or simply self-referred.

All are welcome to these community events.

Daily Duties Include

  • To deliver physical, social and wellbeing activities, using both online digital platforms and face-to face settings.

    Activities including, Art, music and walking clubs.

  • To deliver varying levels of mental health support to clients ensuring they are receiving the correct standard for care.

  • To signpost or refer clients to other services as appropriate.

  • To carry out risk assessments as appropriate.

  • To ensure records or updated and maintained on paper where appropriate in line with the companies policies.

Candidate Requirements

  • Preferable to hold the equivalent of a degree in an relatable and equivalent healthcare or mental health subject field.

  • Essential to be a holder of at least a level 3 qualification relatable and equivalent healthcare or mental health subject field.

  • Essential to be a driver with a valid driving license.

  • Preferable to have a valid DBS.

  • Essential to have at least 2 years professional experience within support mental health service users and running groups.

  • Experience within a mental health/crisis setting presenting excellent skills in de-escalation and sound knowledge or primary and secondary care networks.
