Recruitment Assistant

Service Care Solutions are looking for a Recruitment Assistant on a 5-month contract in the Police Force.

Location: Greater Manchester

Job Role/Purpose:

  • To assist with candidate files in line with individual performance targets, assisting with appropriate candidate enquiries to ensure that intakes are filled in line with the overall intake targets.

  • To monitor the download of applications from our website and manage candidates via the e-recruitment system, moving candidates through the recruitment and selection process as appropriate.

  • To close vacancies (police staff, student officer, specials, volunteers, and specialist police posts) to include status updates, creating print books, preparing short-list forms, and producing control files.

  • To eligibility check applications including making decisions around tattoo, occupational bars, employment, and career history to determine proceeding to the next recruitment stage.

  • To assist in the preparation and filing of unsuccessful applications, using the e-recruitment systems where appropriate and scanning where required.

  • To activate email and letter production for applicants via the e-recruitment system in relation to acknowledgements, withdrawal from process, selection stage results, invites to selection points, employment references and general correspondence as required.

  • To order and maintain an adequate minimal supply of recruitment/marketing literature

  • To undertake a range of administrative duties including dealing with incoming and outgoing mail, telephone enquiries, email in-boxes, filing, photocopying, scanning, weeding and general administrative duties as required.

  • To publish specials promotion adverts on the intranet as required.

  • To create vacancies on the e-recruitment system including NPIA and external adverts as required.

  • To create events on the e-recruitment system, including recruitment awareness/information evenings.

  • To assist with the administration at recruitment awareness/information evenings and other recruitment events as required (will include some evening and weekend working).

  • To send out application links to potential candidates via the e-recruitment system following attendance at recruitment events/information evenings.

Work Experience:

  • Experience working in a customer focused environment.

  • Thorough working knowledge of IT Systems (Microsoft Office).

  • Experience in checking, recording, inputting, and retrieving information.

  • Experience of working of deadlines, and the ability to organize a varied workload.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience using an E-Recruitment System.
