Housing Officer


Job Title: Housing Officer
Work Pattern: 37 hours
Type: Temp on going
Location: London, Harrow HA1 (Hybrid working available)

Purpose of the Role
I am representing a client based in Harrow, who are looking for an experienced Housing Officer to provide a comprehensive housing management service to all tenants and lessees across their borough.

You will be expected to manage the Councils social housing stock and other assets to a consistently high standard of service delivery across several service areas.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering an efficient, high quality, reliable, cost effective and customer-focused housing management service to tenants and leaseholders.



Job Role



  • To demonstrate a commitment to the Equal Opportunities Policy and the ability to understand and implement the policy in relation to the job responsibilities

  • To ensure compliance with your responsibilities as laid out in the council's health and safety policy and take an active role in promoting a positive health and safety culture.

  • In accordance with the Immigration Act 2016, where the role is customer-facing and the post holder is required to speak to members of the public, the ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post

  • To participate fully in IIP, IPAD and training initiatives, information governance initiatives and information management best practice

  • To ensure compliance with information security policies and maintain confidentiality.

  • To ensure that all enquiries, whether in person, writing or by telephone, are dealt with in a professional manner and within corporate timescales.

  • To respond to complaints or anti-social behaviour using a professional approach, initiating follow up action as appropriate.n




Requirements



  • Educated to degree level or equivalent or has the equivalent relevant work experience.

  • Working knowledge of housing and related public sector legislation

  • Working knowledge of relevant Enforcement Legislation and Approved Codes of Practice as it affects tenants and leaseholders

  • Knowledge of welfare benefits, basic repairs and maintenance issues in relation to homes and estates.
