Insurance Officer

Job title: Insurance Officer
Location of the job: Sittingbourne, ME9
Contract type: Temporary - covering sickness
Weekly hours: 36 hours per week
Working hours and breaks: Monday-Friday 9 until 5
Start date: ASAP

Duties -

  • Administer insurance, monitoring settlement of claims and maintaining all records

  • Keep records of all correspondence with insurers, service departments and third parties in relation to each claim

  • Agree settlement of claims with the insurers where appropriate

  • When settling a claim, arrange for payment of any excess to the insurers.

  • Arrange payment of any VAT only invoices for any works carried out to assets.

  • Maintain the motor insurance database

  • Get quotations and arrange cover for any new asset or risk that we want to add/remove outside of the annual renewal process

  • Acting as the principal contact point for the insurers and brokers

  • Attend regular meetings with insurers and brokers

  • Administer all insurance claims in a timely manner and ensuring that all risks are covered

  • Give advice to service departments on any insurance matters.

    Common questions include
    whether we are insured for particular activities, and what level of insurance is required for tenders of new contracts.

  • Administer the insurance claim forms, monitor the settlement of claims and maintain the
    appropriate records

  • Acknowledge new claims with the claimant

Essential criteria:

  • Prior experience of claims handling/management essential.

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Excellent admin skills to be able to pick up new software quickly
