Contract: 12 Months
Salary: £49,134 - £52,428


JOB PURPOSE:


The Solutions Architect is responsible for the efficient and effective design of new ICT service solutions that meet the needs of West Mercia Police.

The role will be responsible for transforming requirements
and proposals from the business into new service solution or existing service improvement designs as a member of the Solution Delivery Team, enabling their
evaluation review by internal stakeholders, go-ahead approval on proposals by internal sponsors, and delivery by internal or external teams to the required standards.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.

To be responsible for ICT solution during the planning, design, development, deployment and approvals, ensuring all related architecture documentation is produced to the required standard.


2.

To take responsibility for understanding strategic business requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and recommending solution options.


3.

To ensure that the ICT service solutions meet all the relevant industry/national/legislative/compliance standards.


4.

To ensure the solution design meets the business requirements and ICT strategy, leveraging industry standards as much as possible.

Identifying risks and providing mitigations options for these to the Solution Delivery Team.


5.

To be responsible for impact analysis and quality assurance of solution architectural design modifications to existing systems to support the delivery of new solutions in accordance with relevant standards for ICT Security etc.


6.

To collaborate with, and facilitates stakeholder groups to ensure the contribution of all relevant stakeholders is maximised.


7.

To articulate complex technical subject matter in ways that are understood by non-technical audiences and to clearly articulate the risks as well as the benefits in a similar manner.


8.

To clearly support the development of business cases and present technical approaches (strategies) to senior stakeholders as well as external partners.


9.

To exercise excellent people skills (e.g.

effective listening, empathy, insight and intellect) and to contribute to the mentoring, coaching and development of ICT team members.


10.

To be a key influencer in respect of ICT strategy, planning, assurance and standard-setting, both internally with key stakeholders and externally in driving maximum value from strategic supplier relationships.


11.To represent effectively and promote the reputation of Digital Services at various meetings and groups both internally and externally, including the development of appropriate and constructive partnerships with relevant
organisations and areas of the force.


12.To be commercially astute on service solution design, perpetually focused on the 'service vs cost' balance and take personal ownership, fully understanding and acting upon situations that require the pursuit of purpose over process.
13.To delegate for the IT Architecture Manager or Solution Delivery Manager as
required.
14.To undertake other duties commensurate
