Driver Labourer


We have an exciting opportunity for experienced driver \ labourer to join the team in Wakefield
The role will primarily include, but not limited to,



  • The collection and delivery of a wide range of vehicles including cars, small vans and tractors and equipment as required.

    To drive all classes of vehicle for which the post holder is licensed.

  • To carry out general labouring and care-taking duties.




Key Outcomes/ Activities

1.

To contribute actively in the overall operation of Transport Services.
2.

To communicate fully with all staff within Transport Services and its customer's as appropriate.
3.

Establish effective working relationships with senior officers of other departments to enable Transport Service to play a full and effective role in the corporate working of the authority so that Council objectives can be achieved.
4.

To participate in maintaining good employee relations within Transport Service.
5.

To apply all appropriate health and safety procedures relevant to the Transport Service and communicate and advise where necessary other staff of their responsibilities in this area and to report any concerns immediately.
6.

To promote and implement the Council's Customer Care policy at all times.
7.

Adhere to legislation, Council policy and procedures as appropriate.
8.

Meet the public and representatives of other Services and contractors as necessary and provide appropriate information on request.
9.

Participate in the team working approach to the allocation of duties within Transport Services, where necessary leading small teams i.e.

where a laboring task may require a team approach.
10.

To adhere to and apply legislation, Council standing orders, constitution and procedures as appropriate.
11.

Working within the aims of the service in a speedy and economical manner having regard for a high standard.
12.

Undertake any training required ensuring that all aspects of the post are undertaken competently and contribute to ongoing personal and Service development.
13.

To provide cover to other areas of work in response to changes in the workload and operational requirements.



You Will Need



  • Valid CSCS Card

  • Full UK Driving License

  • 2+ years' experience




Working hour for this position are Monday to Friday 08:00am - 16:00 pm.

Full time.
