Counselling Lead

Service Care Solutions are working with our established Client to recruit a Counselling Lead on a Permanent basis.

Our Client specialises in individual counselling to Adults experiencing mild to moderate Mental Health issues including Anxiety and Depression, Loss and Bereavement, Domestic Violence amongst others.


Based on the border of Greenwich and Lewisham, the successful candidate will be expected to conduct Face to Face Assessments to Adults within the Community, and provide guidance and support to Student Counsellors.



Job Purpose: Counselling Lead

Pay Rate: £38,000 per annum + £250 Sign-Up Bonus

Location: Orchard Hill, London (transport links between Lewisham/Greenwich)

Contract: 37.5 Hours over 5 Days (30 hours minimum considered)

Job Purpose:
· To lead and work within an integrated community service developing strong partnerships as part of the Leadership Team.


· To continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of service delivery of a team of mental health care professionals, working within BACP Ethical Framework Guidelines for Good Practice.


· To act as a key player within the team, contributing to the effective development and delivery of mental health and wellbeing support services and working as part of the Leadership Team to deliver vision, direction and leadership.


· To place service users, particularly vulnerable adults, their children and their needs at the heart of the role, and to promote the effective engagement of service users in planning, delivering and improving services.




Key Responsibilities:
· To coordinate the day-to-day running of the service, including referral, assessment and allocation systems, ensuring that waiting times, service quality and diversity are well managed.


· To lead and support the counselling service team including group facilitators and school therapists.


· To oversee the recruitment, selection and training of clinical practitioners in accordance with policy, good practice and giving full regard to equal opportunity considerations.


· To co-ordinate external supervision to ensure good clinical practice of all practitioners.


· Liaise with appropriate external agencies and professional bodies, including preparing BACP accredited service annual reports.



· To contribute to and be responsible for delivering effective service development and improvement strategies within the service.


· To carry out assessments working within BACP ethical framework, in addition to other client work as necessary.


· To carry a small clinical caseload of complex clients.


· To organise/facilitate 3 CPD Days per year for the counselling team
· To ensure that the impact of services on outcomes for clients is evidenced based, evaluated and in line with the requirements of any external funders and provide regular reports on participant outcomes.


· Implement the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Policy fully, and actively work to challenge disadvantage and to overcome discrimination and stereotyping.


· To ensure that the duties are undertaken with due regard and compliance with the Data Protection Act and related legislation and regulations.




Essential:
· Qualification in Humanistic Counselling (i.e.

Person Centred) or Integrative Counselling/Psychotherapy
· Minimum of 3 years Counselling experience, post qualification
· Experience of working with Volunteers and/or Placement Counsellors
· Previous experience supporting vulnerable Adults
· BACP Accreditation (or working towards)
