Our client, a local authority based in Wimborne, Dorset are looking for an Senior Planning Officer to join their team.

This is an ongoing temporary contract.

The main purpose of the role is to work as part of the development management service and form part of a team of officers focussing on either ‘major' applications or ‘minor and householder (fast track)' applications.

The post holder will act proactively to bring forward suitable development for consideration through the planning process through developing working relationships with internal and external partners in the planning process.

This will include working with developers, communities, colleagues within the Council (e.g.

planning policy and highways teams) and external bodies such as Natural England and the Environment Agency to bring forward appropriate new development.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following competencies/attributes;

Previous experience of planning, experience working on minor and major applications.
