About the role

  • Lead the Digital Team to deliver the right service area outcomes as effectively as you can to consistently meet customer expectations in accordance with corporate and/or strategic requirements, ensuring compliance with legislation, regulation and the Group's policies, procedures and processes.

  • Propose, agree and manage the Group's digital systems strategy based around integrated cloud based solutions in close collaboration with all directorates and key partners/suppliers.

    Ensure the strategy addresses current needs as well as planning for future needs.

  • Act as the lead project manager for annual digital services improvement projects ensuring that projects meet required customer led outcomes, time and cost parameters.

  • Take lead responsibility for ensuring the integrity of our digital service systems in terms of compliance with GDPR, security expectations, procurement and contract requirements and business plan/budget frameworks.

  • Take lead responsibility for developing the Digital Systems Team strategic and operational improvement planning in accordance with the Group's purpose and 3 strategic aims.

    Monitor strategic and operational improvements to ensure they deliver the desired outcomes.

  • Take lead responsibility for the digital systems team role in our Assure framework by ensuring the team owns its responsibilities to manage, control and test risk.

  • Take an active role in the development and improvement of the Finance Directorate's strategic and operational delivery objectives.

  • Be our lead external ambassador for promoting the Digital Systems Team's service areas externally to develop confidence in the digital development of the Group and its ability to act as a partner and employer of choice.

Person Specification

  • You will preferably have the following credentials

  • A professional IT qualification

  • Hold relevant industry qualifications such as ITIL, PRINCE2, LEAN, SIX SIGMA

  • Confidently use and develop ICT systems to deliver and improve my service delivery.

    In particular, have good working knowledge of typical software solutions relating to my area of expertise and level of responsibility.

    Be able to make the best use of the Microsoft 365 & Office suite and usual business communication devices and systems.

  • A degree in your area of expertise such as Business/Project Management or an industry related subject As the role requires a strong understanding of digital transformation applications within a diverse business environment, we would expect you to have a background/experience/skill sets in the management and planning of IT as well as managing digital transformation projects of scale and complexity.

    This may be demonstrated by specific professional qualifications and/or demonstrable experience in a senior role.

    The role will demand a high level of knowledge and use of third-party cloud/software/security systems and excellent project management/customer relationship skills.
