We have an exciting opportunity for Band 5 Nurse for the Plastics & Reconstructive Unit to join a very successful and strong team.

Job Description

To provide nursing support to patients, families, medical, nursing staff and other healthcare professionals within the hospital, ensuring that this group of patients receives the highest standard of care and support.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carry out safe admission, discharge, diagnostic and interventional procedures in liaison with the Nurse in Charge and Ward Coordinator
  • Delivery of individualised patient care, acting as the named nurse, ensuring the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation is in line with evidence base practices.
  • Use professional judgement when assessing patient needs and investigations requiring analysis and intervention.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals (doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and pharmacists) in the delivery of high standards of care

Skills & Experience

  • Registered General Nurse with valid NMC registration
  • At least 12 months post registration experience within a UK Plastics/Reconstructive Surgery Hospital Department preferred
  • Excellent clinical skills, but not limited to, ECGs, Phlebotomy, wound care/management.
  • Keep up to date with Statutory and Mandatory training.
  • Respectfully to a diverse range of patients from various cultures and backgrounds, with the confidence to assess situations and make clinical decisions appropriately.
