A local authority based in Tiverton are looking for a Planning Enforcement Officer to join their team.

This is on a temporary ongoing contract.

The main purpose of the role is to provide a planning enforcement service as part of the Development Control Service, in accordance with Service Development Plans, performance targets, legislation and the Council's Service Standards and policies.

To assist in the delivery of the planning enforcement service, in particular:

Investigation of complaints and alleged breaches of planning control, to include site inspections, visits, undertaking observation and conducting interviews.

Maintain full and accurate records of site visits, evidence collected.

Giving advice to alleged offenders and complainants on planning and enforcement procedure, including progress on complaints in line with policies and protocols.

Dealing with the discharges of conditions and monitoring implementation of development.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following competencies/attributes;

Previous experience of enforcement, dealing with planning breaches or similar issues.
