Salary: 250-310 per day - 37 hrs

Job Description:

A local authority based in Bristol are urgently looking for a temporary Senior Procurement Officer/Manager/Business Partner on a 3 month initial contract to lead the Procurement function in the Local Authority developing and delivering the Local Authority's Procurement Strategy, looking for continuous improvements in terms of innovation, governance, supplier's landscape and project delivery (quality, cost, timeliness), developing the Local Authority's Procurement knowledge and Commercial expertise to act with a degree of autonomy and drive forward value for money and be recognised as a leader in the region.

The successful candidate will build, develop and manage a high performing procurement function and portfolio of projects to meet the needs of the Local Authority.

They will also act as a centralised consultee of Procurement Green/White Papers and oversee the delivery of Procurement on Transport and Infrastructure Projects working with Heads of Departments and Directors.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • MCIPS Qualified or educated in Procurement to degree level/equivalent

  • Experience in Local Authority and presenting recommendations at Senior/Board level

  • Up to date procurement expertise and an ability to convert that into best practice and ensure compliance in the organisation

  • Excellent leadership qualities with a high attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills and motivational mindset.

  • Experience of Capital Projects and knowledge of NEC4 Suite of contracts desirable
