Job Description:

A local authority in Cornwall is looking for a temporary Group Accountant, on an initial 3 month contract with the potential for a further 9 months, to support the Strategic Finance Manager in all aspects of budget monitoring, reporting and providing financial advice to budget managers.

The role will line manage a team of Accountants to provide financial oversight to the budget managers and look after the business-as-usual budget monitoring and reporting activities for the areas supported.

The role will include monthly budget monitoring, forecasting and reporting, budget setting, financial year end, building and maintaining relationships internally and externally and will require input into service activities and Finance Service management team meetings.

Full job spec available, role will be predominantly home-based with full IT kit provided, however, there may be occasions where in-person attendance is required.

Also available for part time work if needed.

The Ideal Candidate:

We are looking for someone CCAB qualified with relevant experience outlined above, experience of Oracle Finance systems (including PBCS) and prior experience within local government would be desirable but not essential.

Strong IT skills, including Excel, MS Teams, SharePoint, and other MS systems is essential.
