Senior SEN Officer

Senior SEN Officer needed with Oxfordshire County Council



Start Date- ASAP


Contract End date- initially 3 months


Location - Witney


Hours per week - 37 hours per week


Salary - £300 ltd per day



Description



  • You will be responsible for the line-management of the PFS SEN Officers, ensuring that all statutory deadlines are met

  • You will take a lead responsibility for advising parents, schools, colleges and providers to ensure they understand the SEND Legislations and are able to meet to resolve any issues that arise

  • You will ensure that a transition process for children coming out of formal schooling and moving in to post 16 provisions is in place and monitored

  • You will ensure all placements carry out annual reviews

  • You will ensure EHC plans are amended in a timely way following receipt of the paperwork



What is required?



  • Higher education (degree or equivalent)

  • Experience of working with Children & Young People with SEND, their families and professionals

  • Experience of working in a multi-professional environment

  • In-depth knowledge of the SEND tribunal process, including the ability to write case statements and be the lead professional at Tribunal hearings
