Main Duties And Responsibilities:
Contract Management and Authorisation
To assist the CMG Management Team in the effective management of contracts ensuring best value is achieved.
To critically examine levels of service provided.
To assist in the maintenance of service quality standards within contracts and to ensure effective response to instances of default.
To support and lead/undertake specific projects and parcels of work as directed by members of the

Fire Times, IB, London FireFighter etc).
To manage and undertake the audit process as provided within various contracts.
2.1 Assist in the strategic management and supervision of contractors including undertaking specific
strands of work in relation to the technical and quality management of contractors particularly within the PFI contract for vehicles and operational equipment.
2.2 Provide the full range of strategic and administrative support to the Head of CMG to ensure the
effective implementation of the 3-year Procurement Strategy.
2.3 Provide the full range of strategic and administrative support to the CMGMT to champion the
Brigade's Responsible Procurement agenda across its full range (sustainability, environmental, socioeconomic, equalities and diversity).
2.4 Review the Procurement Department's data needs and co-ordinate the development of IT and other systems.
Advise on data capture and storage solutions.
2.5 Monitor and co-ordinate CMG's IT training and development needs.
2.6 Create and maintain a comprehensive “contract register” to provide the CMGMT with early notice and advice of all relevant obligations and objectives.
2.7 Develop quality management processes and protocols to serve as a benchmark for contractors and Brigade staff to ensure quality is delivered consistently and effectively.
3.1 To organise and facilitate meetings and to ensure the development and maintenance of administrative systems both manual and computerised.
3.2 To work flexibly as a member of a team and to assist others as and when required.
3.3 To take responsibility for ensuring own continuing professional development, identifying areas where new skills and/or knowledge would be beneficial in relation to the duties of the post and undertaking appropriate development activities in consultation with line manager and subject to budgetary constraints.
