A Local Education organisation based in Preston is currently recruiting for a Procurement Officer to join their team as soon as possible.

This a full time, permanent position with the ideal candidate having procurement / contract management experience ideally within an educational background.

The purpose of the role is manage and facilitate the provision of effective procurement and contracts management services to staff in accordance with the Mission and Ethos of the organisation.

The main responsibilities of the role:

• To Deputise for the Procurement, Commercial and Contracts Manager, acting as a key contact for the department.


• Support and increase procurement knowledge across college to all budget holders and additional stakeholders.


• Assist in the development of a procurement strategy with spending policies, procedures and procurement plans for each spending area.


• Analyse financial data to identify areas where improvements in efficiency and cost savings can be achieved.


• Undertake market research and liaise with budget holders and stakeholders to prepare specifications, quotes, tenders and/or framework information.


• Prepare periodic reports on value for money obtained to monitor savings, including preparation and presentation of information to Governors and the Senior Leadership Team.


• Evaluate appropriate procurement routes i.e.
  
  quotes, tenders, e-sourcing tools, frameworks

Requirements:

• GCSE Grade A
  
  *-C/9-4, or equivalent, in Mathematics & English Language


• CIPS qualification Level 4 minimum


• Ability to undertake further training and development as required


• Procurement knowledge (Public sector environment)

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering between £31353 - £33949 p/annum dependant on experience and qualifications.
