Although the main purpose of the role is the provision of a Risk Management assurance and governance, candidates will also be expected to mobilise into the business areas delivering work packages and have the ability to facilitate the elicitation of risk information in various ways i.e., via 1-1s up to organising and leading workshops with varying levels of stakeholders including specialist delivery personnel and senior managers alike.

Therefore, the role holder will be required to have extensive practical knowledge, experience and ability, as well as the drive to communicate the importance and benefits of effective Risk Management.

In line with the SL 3 lines of defence assurance framework, the successful candidate will join the Risk Management Assurance and Governance team.

The successful candidate must have an understanding of assurance and governance framework requirements, as well as a good knowledge of Risk Management requirements and delivery, to enable them to provide support to the Risk Management profession in the delivery of assurance activities, this will include

• Conducting assurance reviews at levels 1 & 2 (local self-assessment - Level 1 and Capability lead assessment - Level 2);


• Defining lines of enquiry for level 1 & 2 assurance reviews;


• Delivery of improvements to the Risk Management assurance framework;


• Supporting External assurance reviews (Internal Audit, LRQA, WANO, ONR/EA, IPA, NDA etc - level 3);


• Arranging quarterly assurance steering group meetings;


• Provision of quarterly Risk Assurance performance report;


• Representing the Risk Profession at Assurance Communities of Practice meetings;


• Attending regular assurance meetings with Internal Audit;


• Provision of Assurance SME support to other Risk Practitioners.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Graduate (minimum 2:2) in relevant discipline or equivalent;


• Accredited to an appropriate professional body such as IRM / APM;


• Experience of delivering a Risk Management Service with a focus on Risk Modelling.
