Substance Misuse Nurse required based in North London for a drug and alcohol service.

• £30 - £32 per hour (negotiable depending on experience)

Job Details

• To provide a range of community or hospital-based recovery-focused substance misuse service interventions in accordance with the agreed model of service delivery.


• To undertake health and wellbeing assessments for alcohol or opiate service users, or users of other drugs, when indicated by clinical need, followed by a care plan or recommendations.


• To undertake community alcohol detoxification either at the service or at the service user's home.


• To provide screening for blood borne viruses (BBV), through dry blood spot testing.

Essential requirements

• Registered RMN/RGN nurse with the NMC with at least two years' post-registration experience.


• Experience of community-related substance misuse multi-disciplinary work.


• Experience of BBV screening and the administration of BBV vaccinations.


• Knowledge of the issues facing substance misusers including providing drug or alcohol detoxification.
