Service Care Legal are currently recruiting on behalf of a local authority in Oxfordshire, who are seeking a General Litigation lawyer to join the legal department of the authority.

ROLE: General Litigation Lawyer
LOCATION: Oxfordshire
CONTRACT: 3 months ongoing, 36 hours per week, possible extension up to 6 or 9 months
RATE: £40.00 to £52.00ph LTD

Please note that this role is currently working from home.

The Role

, To assist the Head of Litigation and Senior Litigation Lawyers in progressing caseloads related to Litigation through to completion
, To provide support related to civil and criminal litigation, injunction applications, property, contract, public law and complex debt enforcement litigation
, To advise client officers and conduct of litigation on behalf of the council
, To analyse information and then conduct legal research and prepare reports

The Person

, A qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with at least 1 year PQE
, Comfortable and experienced in managing a caseload of General Litigation matters through to completion
, Prior experience of working within a Local Authority would be highly advantageous
, To be able to communicate effectively with Members and outside professional bodies e.g.

barristers and Courts
