Medical HR Manager

Service Care Solutions are recruiting for a Medical HR Manager in Oxford Littlemore working in the NHS on a temporary agency contract.

Pay £28.00Ltd an hour (£22.50PAYE an hour) paid weekly via an umbrella company

Overall Responsibility's
To support the Medical Director, Clinical Directors, Associate Medical Directors (AMD's) and Medical Educators leading the provision of specialist professional advice and support on all operational and strategic Medical HR issues.

To co-ordinate and develop a comprehensive, specialist medical HR service and ensure a timely and efficient service is provided to all Directorates and stakeholders.

To be the central advisor within Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust on all doctors' terms and conditions.

Main role
Medical staffing management (contracts and T&C's)
Responsibility for the entire medical workforce; new and existing medical staff, ensuring that their period of employment runs smoothly.

To provide advice to medical managers on all Medical HR issues, procedural matters, ensuring adherence to national terms and conditions of service (T&C's), including pay, local Trust policies, referring issues to the Senior HR Business Partners where appropriate.

Lead on the management and resolution of complex payroll queries for medical staff.
Responsibility for ensuring that all medical staff maintain their registration with the General Medical Council and that the Trust is aware of any investigations, warnings, conditions or restrictions to practice.

To provide expert advice as necessary regarding contractual terms of service on medical contracts to include training grade doctors, career grade doctors, GP's, consultants and dentists.

Working in partnership with the BMA where appropriate.

Supporting collective bargaining processes to drive change and the improvement of working conditions for doctors and dentists.

Play an active role in ensuring the trust is compliant with and supportive of the Fatigue and Facilities Charter for trainees.

Assisting with upgrading of existing facilities to help improve working conditions.

Responsible for issuing of medical staff contracts of employment and maintaining up to date versions made available by NHS Employers.

To support the HR Advisory/Employee Relations teams, clinicians and managers in monitoring and reducing medical staffing sickness absence.

Support will include monitoring sickness absence for the on-call rotas highlighting possible options and appropriate action to be taken.

Medical Recruitment
To support the HR Advisory/Employee Relations Service in working with clinicians and management to re-design medical jobs roles and functions to improve service delivery and financial stability.

Working with colleagues to assist in the planning of future workforce requirements and associated staff training needs to support improved service delivery.

Provide bespoke training on medical recruitment best practice to the Resourcing Team to ensure a full understanding of the requirements, process and terminology.
To oversee medical staffing recruitment, including the organisation of and attendance at AACs, adhering to Trust Recruitment policy and DoH Good Practice guidelines.

To regularly review recruitment & selection practices and processes to ensure continuing provision of a quality, cost effective service, which support the employment and retention of appropriately qualified medical staff.

First degree or equivalent skills gained through any combination of alternative study and experience.
Knowledge of the specialist area of medical staffing gained through experience and/or specialist training courses.
Evidence of further/continuous personal development.
To have attended the NAMPS Medical Personnel Training Course or equivalent.
