Clinical Lead

An exciting job opportunity has arisen for a motivated Clinical Lead/Senior Nurse Practitioner to work with one of UK’s leading health care providers.

As a Clinical Lead/Senior Nurse Practitioner you will be joining in a highly reputable Hospital Service within Nottinghamshire area.

This special hospital is a medium secure unit for men and women and provides support for those with personality disorders, learning disabilities, and other mental health issues.

They aim to maximise patient recovery and potential by treating and minimising risk behaviours and by enabling them to develop psychological, emotional, social and occupational skills and resilience.

As a Clinical Lead/ Senior Nurse Practitioner your day to day duties include:

·          Providing a specialist clinical knowledge, expertise and support to the nursing team and wider MDT.

·          Having an oversight of the clinical and care needs of all acute in patients, supporting the primary nurses in working with patients, their families, Care Coordinators, community teams  and other stakeholders in meeting the individual needs of each patient

·          Embracing diagnostic and risk uncertainty, with proactive clinical risk assessment and management, when planning care and interventions with clinical colleagues

·          Constructively reviewing and challenging nursing practice in the ward, leading by example, and providing expert knowledge to the nursing and wider MDT on a speciality or individual patient basis

·          Providing education and development of nurses and HCAs within the ward, based on need, and ensuring that the baseline needs of nurses to practice safely and effectively are met


An ideal Clinical Lead/Senior Nurse Practitioner must have these skills as they are beneficial for this position:

·          Have substantial and significant experience in In patient Acute care, including PICU

·          Evidence of Continuing Professional Development relevant to acute care

·          Specialist knowledge on one or more interventions/conditions, such as CBT, DBT, concomitant substance misuse/detoxification, relevant to acute care

·          Have worked in acute care settings ( in patient or community) for at least 3 years

·          Experience at Deputy Ward Manager level, equivalent  or above

·          Negotiating and working across organisational boundaries

·          Leadership

·          Working with HEIs, mentoring student nurses

·          Evidence of having influenced practice or service development in an acute setting


The successful Clinical Lead/Senior Lead Practitioner will receive an excellent annual salary of £48,000.

This exciting position is for 37.5 hours a week Full Time.
