The outpatient pharmacy department at a leading Southampton hospital is now looking for a Pharmacy Technician to join their team and take part in a growing, thriving service.Serving one of the largest patient populations in the UK, the pharmacy plays a crucial part in outpatient care and supports patients with diverse healthcare needs across every clinical area – whether they are a recent attendee of A&E, a discharged inpatient continuing treatment at home, or need specialist support to manage a chronic and progressive condition.As an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician, you will deliver effective pharmacy services as part of an excellent, patient-centred outpatient care experience.
Aspects of your role will include ensuring prescriptions are accurately and safely dispensed, resolving queries concerning medicines from both patients and colleagues, ensuring adherence to secure stock management procedures, and assisting in team management to best support positive patient outcomes.An existing Accuracy Checking Technician qualification would be ideal but is not essential for this role.
Similarly, clinical or outpatient pharmacy experience will be an advantage but Pharmacy Technicians from a community background will be considered and are encouraged to apply.This is a permanent, full-time role (40h) for an Outpatient Pharmacy Technician.
Part-time may be considered for the right candidate. Person specification:
