Nurse Deputy Ward Manager

An amazing new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Nurse Deputy Ward Manager to work in an exceptional mental health service based in the Gosport, Hampshire area.

You will be working for one of UK's leading health care providers



This special service is rehabilitation and recovery service for males presenting with mental illnesses and complex needs, that are often accompanied by challenging behaviours

As the Deputy Ward Manager your key responsibilities include:



  • Supporting others to support vulnerable men to reach their full recovery potential

  • Being a clear leader for the Nursing team and managing shifts

  • Providing high quality care in a rehabilitation and recovery setting for men suffering from enduring mental illness

  • Developing therapeutic relationships to optimise patient engagement

  • Following all codes of conduct, standards and legislation, respecting the rights of others and promoting ethical practice

  • Contributing to patient assessments, compiling a plan of care alongside the individual, and monitoring patient progress

  • Mentoring and supporting student nurses and other members of the team

  • Promoting professional development within the team



The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:



  • Experience in a supervisory role

  • A recognised mentoring certificate

  • The ability to assess and teach junior staff

  • A proven ability to co-ordinate care, prioritise tasks and manage Health & Safety issues

  • The drive to learn and develop

  • A commitment to patient-centred care and to values-based and evidence-based practice



The successful Deputy Ward Manager will receive and excellent salary of £38,030 per annum.

This exciting position is a Full Time role working 37.5 hours a week.
