Youth Offending Officer
Swindon Youth Offending Service are currently seeking an experienced Youth Offending Officer to join their multi-agency team, on a full time basis for 3 months, covering maternity leave.
The position will be working in the wider Restorative Youth Services, and will be expected to reduce youth offending by providing a professional Social Work service to clients, families and carers.
In this post you will be expected to make risk assessments of young people referred to the service, run group work programmes, act as Court Officer (where required), write Pre-Sentence Reports for Youth and Crown Courts, manage a caseload and visit young people on remand or in custody.
In this post you will also be required to be part of a duty rota; to include Panel work/ Court work as required and take part in Saturday and bank holiday Court rotas.
To be successful in your application, you must hold a degree in Social Work, and be registered with Social Work England.
Applicants must also hold a current, enhanced DBS, and have a driving licence and access to a vehicle.
You must have experience of working within a youth offending service, and have knowledge and understanding of the Children's Act (1989), Crime & Disorder Act (1998), and LASPO Act (2012).
Experience of using AssetPlus is advantageous but not essential for this position.
