Specialist Doctor

An exciting new job opportunity has arisen for a motivated Specialist Doctor to work in an exceptional Hospital service.

As a Specialist Doctor you will be working for a company which is rated highly and has an excellent reputation in the Sheerness area

This special hospital aim is to help patients regain their independence where appropriate, and to teach them coping strategies, for example after a stroke.

Staff work in partnership with the patient, carer and relatives to ensure all aspects of care, including assessment of needs on admission, joint goal setting, planning, implementation and evaluation of care, are effective.

They provide a rehabilitation-focused inpatient approach to care.

There are many beds available and the hospital takes patients directly from their own homes, and from the acute Trusts.

They are able to provide end of life and stroke care.

As a Specialist Doctor your day to day duties include:

·         To provide comprehensive patients assessments, requesting and interpreting diagnostic results for inpatients and outpatients

·         To supervise the admission of patients to allocated wards

·         To undertake and document a daily review of all in patients as required

·         To prepare and attend Consultant ward rounds and Multidisciplinary Team Meetings.

·         To undertake procedures as necessary e.g.

phlebotomy, ECG

·         To undertake all aspects of Medicines Management as required

·         To complete all documentation to agreed standards and within response times e.g.

Daily Patient Updates, Health Needs Assessments, Discharge Summaries within 24 hours

·         To work closely with the MDT ensuring timely discharges within agreed local guidelines

·         To ensure patients and their families are involved in all aspects of care planning and decision making throughout the episode of care

·         To keep accurate records and complete reports as required

·         Demonstrate, promote and encourage an understanding of positive health and to promote the health and well-being of the patient and their carer

 

An ideal Specialist Doctor you must have these skills and experiences as they are beneficial for this position:

·         Registration with the General Medical Council

·         4 years post graduate training of which 2 years must be in in Elderly care/ Geriatric medicine

·         MRCP

·         Experience of audit in clinical practice.

·         Understands the principles of clinical governance- ensures patients are not put at risk.

·         Able to demonstrate effective team working.

·         Computer literate.

·         Has experience of working in teams.

·         Able to manage and prioritise workload.

·         Contributes to teaching and learning of others in the clinical setting.

·         Understanding of the basic principles of research.

·         Keeps professional knowledge and skills up to date.

 

The successful Specialist Doctor will receive an excellent salary of £72,840.

This exciting position is a Full Time role for 40 hours a week.
