NHS Flexi Chef
An opportunity has arisen for a well organised and motivated individual to join the friendly and helpful catering team within various hospital sites in the East Sussex area.
The successful candidate must be a car driver, and will possess excellent organisational and time keeping skills, and will be comfortable working both as part of a team, and also working individually.
You will be working within a various mental health services, and your role will be to ensure that a high quality catering service is maintained within the hospitals.
Job Title - Cook/Chef
Location - East Sussex (Various Locations)
Hours - 37.5 hours a week
Contract - 3 Months Ongoing.
The preparation and cooking of food with economical and prudent use of commodities to established quality standards and as directed by senior staff
To be aware of and be able to comply with special dietary needs for patients and restaurant this will including liaising with ward housekeepers, nursing staff and dieticians with regards to patients specific and individual needs.
A good understanding of religious and cultural eating requirements.
The production of specific items for the testing of food allergens in accordance to the wards requirement.
The ability to think and work as part of a team as well as working to specific time restraints on a daily basis.
Preparation of food for both patients and visitors to a high standard following set menus and specific guidelines.
Covering of shifts in order to have a fully staffed team at all times.
This will include the covering of the Private Patients unit and the provision of meals to that area.
The daily preparation of salads for both patients menu as well as the Restaurant retail.
Working alongside Chef Tam Leader in the helping of the provision of all menu items for the restaurant and Crèche as well as the call order menu during the lunch service.
Preparation of items for the next shift or for the following day's production.
City & Guilds 7061/7062 or equivalent qualifications
Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
